WMPL 920 AM
WMPL, also located in downtown Hancock, is a station that can be best described with one word...tradition. In 1970, Bob Olsen purchased WMPL which was, at the time, a local and national level talk radio station broadcasting on both AM and FM. The format on the FM side changed numerous times, and eventually settled into what is now the Mix Hot A/C format of the 80's, 90's,and today. The AM side of the current format is known as "The Talk of the Town" with innovative, though provoking, yet traditional broadcasting. In 2006, J & J Broadcasting purchased WMPL along with WKMJ. One of the first programming changes made in keeping with tradition was the return of the Jan Tucker Show to WMPL. Mitch Lake who has been with WMPL since 1972, currently co-hosts the Jan Tucker Show along with hosting the Morning Show, Local News, Sports, and‚ co-hosting the Super Saver Shopping Show with Mary Ann Schulze. Mary Ann has been with WMPL for over 25 years. You can learn more or listen to WMPL live online by visiting www.wmpl920.com.
